Engaged Communities are at the heart of our mission. We believe that vibrant, connected communities are the foundation for lasting change and social equity. Our Engaged Community programs are designed to strengthen the fabric of our neighborhoods by fostering deep, meaningful connections among residents, empowering individuals, and creating spaces for collective growth and celebration.

Our programming places a strong emphasis on youth development, offering opportunities for young people to engage in enriching experiences that build leadership, confidence, and resilience. From mentorship initiatives to skill-building workshops, we are committed to equipping the next generation with the tools they need to succeed.

In addition, we center the transformative power of arts and humanities in our work. By exposing our community members to creative expression and cultural exploration, we aim to inspire new ways of thinking, promote emotional well-being, and celebrate the rich diversity of our neighborhoods. A core aspect of this is highlighting and honoring the work of  creatives, whose contributions shape our communities in profound and meaningful ways.

Through a variety of community events, we celebrate who we are and where we come from. These gatherings provide a platform for residents to come together, share stories, and connect over shared experiences, fostering a sense of belonging and collective pride. Whether through cultural festivals, art exhibits, or neighborhood celebrations, these events serve as a reminder that our strength lies in our unity and the diversity of voices that contribute to the vibrancy of our communities.

Our Engaged Community programs are about more than just creating activities—they are about building relationships, deepening cultural ties, and ensuring that every individual feels seen, heard, and valued. Together, we are working to create communities that are not only strong but also compassionate, inclusive, and ready to thrive.

“My experience was fun. We visited many different attractions such as Yum Village, Earthworks Farm, U of M, which gave us information for our businesses and about entrepreneurship that helped me with my food truck.
