Communities First, Inc.’s Movies Under the Stars event scheduled for Friday, August 12 has been rescheduled for Saturday, August 13 due to expected thunderstorms. The location and event times remain the same.
“Zootopia” is the featured film, a popular animated tale of Judy Hopps a funny bunny who faces opposition in fulfilling her dream of becoming a police officer. The entertaining film reminds us all that stereotypes and bias exist, but it is possible to succeed and overcome adversity.
The free, family event will be held in the lower garden of Applewood Estate, with parking available in Lot G of Mott Community College’s campus. There is an entrance from the parking lot directly to Applewood Estate. The event pre-party begins at 7:30pm and the movie starts dusk. The pre-party for “Zootopia” will include crime scene investigation games, a community art project, petting zoo, meet and greet with police officers, horses in the Applewood barn and much, much more! The events snacks will be provided.
There will also be drawings for T-Shirts, family passes for Wilderness Trails Zoo, NCG Trillium Theater, Hoffman's Deco Deli, Freakin' Unbelievable Burger, Mongolian BBQ, Crust and The Laundry gift cards.
The final movie in this Movies Under the Stars season is Cars shown during Back to the Bricks on Saturday, August 20 at Flint City Hall on the Back Lawn.
