Our Green Life Community Education Program has impacted more than 300 Flint area residents, teaching them about the importance of protecting the environment, recycling, energy saving practices and how to reduce their energy and water costs. The forums were well received and many participants signed up for recycling and implemented the tips that were offered. Partners for this program included: Republic Services, City of Flint, Genesee Conservation District, Genesee County Community Action Resource Department, Mass Transportation Authority and Green and Healthy Homes Initiatives.
In February, Communities First, Inc. will host a business forum designed to help local businesses rethink their normal operating practices and consider their impact of the environment. As we work to make our community safer, sustainable and more visually appealing, we recognize businesses as an important partner in our efforts.
