Message from the President

As President/CEO and Co-Founder of Communities First, Inc., I am honored to lead our collective commitment to empowering people and building communities. In our work, we are passionate about equitable real estate development, economic mobility and engaging people, particularly those who face barriers to having their voice heard and are rarely brought to table to solve complex but impactful issues. We know that our efforts are critical to improving quality of life for all that we serve and will help us create more equitable, inclusive and just communities.

At the end of every year, I spend time in deep reflection thinking about what we have done and where we are headed in the next year. I believe that casting vision is a lifeline to me and our entire team for the coming year. That is why I selected the theme for 2023 -- “Small changes make a big difference.”

This year, our theme represents the importance of the small actions that serve as the catalyst for significant, positive change. Whether it is making one extra referral on behalf of one of our clients or improving one question in our surveys, this small change can have a monumental impact over the course of the year. This means that we are not just thinking about how we interact with one person, organization or system but how that one interaction impact home, community or workplace for the good.

We have a great team of individuals that are committed to our mission and have significant growth on the horizon for our organization. We invite you to walk alongside us in 2023. There is always more work to be done and there is always a place for you. Volunteer at programs that speak to your personal passions or talents, donate to support our program financially or invite someone you think will benefit from one of our programs. This work truly takes a village, but we know that with commitment and collaboration from like-minded community partners like you, we can improve quality of life for all and make a significant impact.

Regards,

Glenn A. Wilson
