Families and individuals of all ages attended Communities First, Inc.’s Taste of Culture event. This was organized as a day of exploring cultures from around the world. Admission, all activities and food were free!
Participants were able to interact and learn from individuals from countries such as Japan, India, Nigeria, China, Germany, Brazil, Mexico and Jamaica. Booths were set up with displays showcasing aspects of other nations such as music, art, language and clothing. Each booth was manned by individuals from the respective country. Food from several countries was available to try free of charge, and a cricket match was played by international students from Kettering. By engaging all the senses (sight, sound, taste, smell, touch) CFI created lasting memories and strong positive impressions of foreign cultures.
Sponsors for this event included: General Motors Flint Assembly, Grill of India, Italia Gardens and Meijer.
